OPPO has announced its latest flagship phone series, the Reno. It’s the company’s first devices with truly high-end specs since last year’s Find X: the lineup includes options for a Snapdragon 855 processor, a 48-megapixel camera, and a 10x optical zoom lens and of course, there’s no notch. The RENO is said to disrupt the industry with its unique and mesmerizing design.

The OPPO RENO series is going to have two variants, the standard RENO which will come with a 48-megapixel dual functioning main camera and a 5-megapixel depth sensor to take extra crisp pictures and videos as well. The standard edition phone has a 6.4-inch notch-less AMOLED screen shielded by Gorilla Glass 6. The display is embedded with an in-screen fingerprint reader. The smartphone is fueled by Snapdragon 710 mobile platform. The standard version of the RENO will be in the markets by mid-June and is said to have a price tag of 80,000 to 90,000 PKR. It has to be noted here that OPPO has done an outstanding job launching such high specifications at such a competitive price, OPPO surely knows how to give its competitors a tough time. The RENO is the perfect mid-ranger for the Pakistani market providing the best bang for the buck for your hard-earned cash.

The OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Edition is a flagship smartphone powered by Snapdragon 855 mobile platform. It features a notch-less 6.6-inch AMOLED display that supports full HD+ resolution. Its protected by Gorilla Glass 6 and it is equipped with an in-screen fingerprint sensor. The 48-megapixel, 13-megapixel depth sensor and 8-megapixel telephoto lens triple camera setup of the smartphone carries support for 10x optical zoom and 60x digital zoom. It also features a 16-megepixel pop-up selfie snapper. Its packed with a 4,065mAh battery supports VOOC 3.0 flash charge. Ocean Green and Jet Black are the two-color editions of the phone. It is available in three variants: 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 6 GB RAM + 256 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage.

The OPPO RENO 10x Zoom is all set to launch in the Pakistani market with a price tag of 120,000 to 140,000 PKR. To some this price tag might not make sense as previously OPPO had focused on mid-ranger smartphones, this time around OPPO has a completely different strategy. They have shifted their focus from mid-rangers to high end flagship devices and the RENO series is the brainchild of this strategy. The price tag on this device is higher since consumers would be buying a premium device that lets them experience style and luxury that have never been seen before. Compared to the other high-end flagship devices, the OPPO RENO would be a step ahead with company warranties and superior customer services as they have authorized dealership throughout the country. Overall OPPO RENO 10x Zoom will be the most competitively priced flagship in Pakistan.

With fierce competition in the smartphone market in Pakistan, Oppo has decided to take big steps to come out on top of the game.

Oppo has recently discontinued its R-series phones in the favor of the brand-spanking new Reno series. With much global buzz over the Reno and Reno 10x ZOOM, the brand is aiming to gain maximum appeal that caters to a larger audience with much more inclusive design and aesthetics for a more luxurious experience.
 
The news was confirmed by the vice-president of Oppo Mr. Shen Yiren. Even though R-series was one of the top-selling series, Oppo says they are discounting it to focus on the more premium series like Reno. Focusing on bold design language, a classic hallmark of Oppo, they are trying to shift focus to their camera technology. Here’s where the new Reno 10x Zoom comes in, the device features the shark-fin pop-up camera, a Snapdragon 855 processor and a triple-camera setup with a 10x hybrid zoom lens.

Oppo also plans to launch 5G-ready versions of Oppo Reno phones. The regular Reno variant features a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a full-HD+ resolution. A lightning fast in-display fingerprint scanner and it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor clubbed with 8GB of RAM.

Oppo Reno 10x Zoom Edition, on the other hand, has a 6.65-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display and it is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. The smartphone has a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with an f/1.7 aperture. The flagship handset of the company sports a 13MP secondary sensor that has a periscope telephoto lens on top paired with an 8MP super wide-angle sensor.

The decision is a great one by Oppo as many of its loyal fans now demand more innovation and out of the world designs. The Reno series packs a lot of punch in terms of the overall design, build quality and camera specifications. This is the one to look forward to.

OPPO and Ericsson today announced the signing of a multi-year global patent license agreement between the two companies. The agreement covers patent licensing, and collaboration on a number of business projects.

Adler Feng, Head of OPPO Intellectual Property Department, said that the agreement will lay a solid foundation for further cooperation between the two companies in the 5G era. “OPPO has always placed intellectual property rights as our top priority. We look forward to working with Ericsson to drive cutting-edge innovation in products and services.”

Gustav Brismark, Chief Intellectual Property Officer at Ericsson, says: “This important deal confirms the value of our patent portfolio and further validates the Ericsson FRAND licensing program. Ericsson has signed more than 100 patent license agreements to date, and we are delighted to sign a mutually beneficial agreement with OPPO.”

Following a patent-first strategy, OPPO always attaches great importance to the patent and reserve accumulation. As of January 2019, the company has filed more than 33,000 patent applications worldwide and owns more than 8,000 granted patents. The deal with Ericsson is the latest in a series of patent license agreements by OPPO with key telecommunication industry partners including Qualcomm, Dolby and Nokia. OPPO will continue to work closely with leading industry partners to bring the best products and experiences to consumers globally.

OPPO had announced the launch of very first R-series smartphone dubbed as R17 Pro in Pakistan earlier this week. The company, today, has announced the price of the smartphone that will hit the shelves on December 15th.



According to recent announcement, the OPPO R17 Pro will cost PKR 109,999 in Pakistan, that is around ~$790. It will be available in two colours, Emerald Green and Radiant Mist.

It has announced a giveaway campaign of their brand new smartphone from their flagship series, OPPO F9. This will be to celebrate the victory of the Pakistani team in every match in the Asia Cup. It is taking place at the United Arab Emirates from 15th September to 28th September. The tournament will comprise of 12 matches played across the two venues in UAE, culminating in the final scheduled to be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on 28th September.



Six sides will be battling it out for the trophy. In the first stage, the six teams will be divided into two groups, namely A and B, with three teams from each group playing the others in their group once. Group A consists of Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka whilst Group B is made up of Hong Kong, India and Pakistan. The top two teams from each group will then progress to the Super Four, in which each team will face all other teams once.

Sarfaraz Ahmed, the captain of the Pakistan Cricket team, renowned batsman and wicketkeeper, will be giving out autographed OPPO F9 phones to lucky winners, if Pakistan wins in any match during the Asia Cup. The giveaway will start with the much-awaited India vs. Pakistan match that will take place on the 19th of September. The contestants of the giveaway will be required to upload patriotic selfies of themselves on Social Media with #CheerforPakistan in the caption to enter the giveaway.
